The following questions are recommended when considering an Adult Day Care Program:
Do you currently have openings in the program?
If there is a wait list, how many people are on it?
When could my care recipient start in the program?
What kinds of activities do you offer?
Can you send me an activity calendar?
How many people attend on a daily basis?
What is your staff-to-participant ratio?
Can staff administer medications?
Do you have any outdoor space? gardens? gardening activities?
Do you have nursing staff? licensed? Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LPNs or Nursing Aides?
Are you licensed or certified?
What is the charge for a full day?Do you offer half day rates?
Do you offer transportation?
What are your hours?
Do you offer extended hours?
Tell me about your staff:
Do you have any experience with...?. (issues or diagnosis of your care recipient)
May I visit for all/part of the first day?
During your first visit, you may want to determine the following:
