Coach Evana Henri

evana

Evana is a licensed clinical/health psychologist specializing in wellness promotion. Her passion is to help people develop and maintain a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. Currently, she is a psychologist at a non-profit mental health center serving older adults in Boulder County. She conducts assessment and provides therapy, support, and resource referral to older adults with chronic mental illness and their caregivers. The primary focus of the treatment is to maximize clients’ quality of life in their own home, at an assisted living place, or a skilled nursing facility.

As a caregiver coach, Evana can help you with the many challenges of aging and caregiving, including but not limited to: cope with stress, identify early signs of depression/anxiety, develop practical strategies of self-care, communicate/coordinate care more effectively, manage chronic illness/pain in yourself and/or your loved ones, and deal with grief/loss and trauma that take on many unexpected shapes and sizes.

Evana is trained in research-proven, time-limited, and cost-effective treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), and solution-focused therapy. However, she will not be doing psychotherapy as your caregiver coach; instead, the guiding perimeter of your sessions will be geared towards developing a flexible and individualized plan based on your strengths to address your unique situation and needs.

Evana received a B.A. with honors in psychology from Stanford University and Ph.D. in clinical/health psychology from Ohio State University. She also completed a hospital-based internship and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center and the Neuropsychiatric Institute. She has worked at a day treatment center for Alzheimer’s and other dementia, as well as a residential facility for developmentally disabled individuals.
