Caring for a parent over 60? Take an online survey and receive a $15 gift card
A doctoral student from the University of Denver is looking for caregivers to complete a questionnaire for a study that focuses on caregivers who are caring for their aging parents (includes in-laws, etc.). The preference is for them to be living together but the required criteria is that they spend a lot of time together and that the older parent requires at least 6 hours of care (not necessarily all provided by the child) each week to remain in the home.
The survey closes at the end of October, 2009 - so take a few minutes now to share your perspective of the role of family caregivers.
Participants will receive a $15 gift card to a grocery store for completing a questionnaire that asks them about their thoughts and experiences. The questionnaire can be completed online or mailed in hard copy. There is an option for the parent to participate as well but it is not required.
Purpose of the study: better understand what it is like to spend extensive time with and give help to parents (who over 60 years old).
Goal of the study: find ways to improve the lives of older people and their caregivers who face challenges or struggles.

I am caring for my 94-year-old mother full time. She lives with me and I have a neighbor who comes in about 10-15 hours/week.
